 Cast and Crew

Alexander Wright is making his directorial debut with SotR. He is not new to the company though, he has acted in various SotR productions - Twelfth Nite, Othello, Macbeth - to name a few. Alex has also worked with various Sun City theaters in many capacities - acting, directing, producing, etc. Outside of the theater, he is a local award-winning drag artist known as Rumor.

Michael P. Alden has performed with SotR before, in our 2017 production of a bilingual take on Shakespeare’s “Romeo y Julieta”. This is his first time assistant directing for the company. Michael has also performed at the El Paso Community College (EPCC) & the El Paso Playhouse. Outside of theater, Michael is an interior designer.

John Estrada has been the SotR Technical Director for many years now. He has directed and acted for the company among building our many sets. John has also directed for the El Paso Playhouse with his House of Curiosities which showcases local written, created and curated talent!

Derek Brown is one of our newest additions to the company and will be making his debut in ‘Hamlet’. He has recently starred in ‘Sense & Sensibility’ as Edward Ferrars at the El Paso Playhouse. He has also been in ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’, ‘Alice In Wonderland’ & ‘The Glass Menagerie’.

Johnathan Cantrell is a SotR favorite that has acted in a wide range of productions with the company. His most recent work with SotR was in 2022’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

Carlos De La Garza Garcia lends us his talents as the voice of Hamlet’s Father. Carlos is a veteran of the theatrical community in El Paso. He has worked in almost every capacity and on almost every stage in the Sun City - director, actor, costume designer, the Festival Theater, the El Paso Playhouse, Chamizal - you name it!

Danny Fogle Jr. started his SotR legacy in 1996 and is reprising the titular role that he portrayed in our 2013 production. The last SotR production you would’ve seen him in was 2022’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” as Nick Bottom. Along with being an actor for SotR, he is also a council member. Most recently he was Mitch Albom in “Tuesday’s With Morrie” as part Jewel Box Series. He has also performed at the El Paso Community College (EPCC), University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), the El Paso Playhouse & Theater Inc. Danny studied at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy.

Estevan Herrera is another SotR favorite, last seen on stage for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 2022 as Theseus/Egeus. His acting credits include “As You Like It” by the Bard himself & “La Gringa”, both at the El Paso Playhouse. He’s also acted in “La Tia De Carlos” & “La Tercera Palabra” with Los Actores. Estevan loves the way audiences bring their own magic to the show. Each night is different and special.

Ricardo Jimenez has been part of the SotR family for a couple years now and most recently seen in 2022’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ as Lysander. He has also worked with Los Actores, the UTEP Department of Theatre & Dance and The Jewel Box Series (just to name a few).

Leslie Leigh Tucker Horvath is not new to SotR or the role of Queen Gertrude in ‘Hamlet’. She is reprising her role for the 3rd time (talk about a stellar performance!). Leslie has performed in various productions at the El Paso Playhouse to include Spider’s Web, The Play That Goes Wrong & Moon Over Buffalo (which has been her favorite role, Charlotte Hay.

Nicolas McKay is a student teacher that has recently graced the stage at the El Paso Playhouse in ‘Sense & Sensibility’ as Sir John and Ensemble. Though ‘Hamlet’ is his initiation into SotR, he is not new to the Shakespearean theater. Nick has portrayed Conrad in ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ at Shakespeare In The Park in San Antonio. He also has a couple other productions under his belt which include performing with the St. Mary’s University Drama Department.

Victoria Molinar is not new to SotR, she was Helena in our 2022 production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Victoria was recently on stage for the Border Theatre’s production ‘Dare Me To Be Stupid’ as Nora. She has also worked with various local theater companies that include the Star On The Mountain Theatre Company and the El Paso Playhouse. When Victoria is not rehearsing for ‘Hamlet’, she enjoys acting in film, singing, creating & supporting all forms of art.

Lorely Crystal Rodriguez is part of SotR in every capacity you could think of - council member, actress, assistant director, etc. Needless to say, she is not new to Shakespeare, her most recent role was Hermia in our 2022 production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. She has also performed with Los Actores, the El Paso Playhouse, the El Paso Community College and Jewel Box Series. Lorely is a mother to 2 beautiful sons, whom she loves and utterly adores.

Rick Villalva is a staple in the Shakespeare-on-the-Rocks family, as well as with the Los Actores Theater Company. He’s an actor and has also assistant directed. Other stage credits include being a Folklorico dancer and also a performer in VIVA, El Paso!
